Overall Objective of the Job:

To plan, design, supervise, and ensure the quality of mechanical systems and work in university projects. The role involves selecting appropriate devices, coordinating with consultants, auditing contractors' mechanical works, diagnosing and resolving recurring issues, and proposing improvement, corrective, and preventive measures for university facilities.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Plan and design mechanical systems and select appropriate equipment to ensure the quality of mechanical work in university projects.
• Supervise the planning and design of all mechanical works on campus.
• Inspect and audit mechanical works performed by contractors.
• Plan installations and equipment to meet project objectives.
• Monitor recurring mechanical faults, diagnose root causes, and implement effective solutions.
• Propose preventive, corrective, and improvement actions related to mechanical systems in university facilities.
• Coordinate with external consulting firms on mechanical aspects during design and planning stages.
• Prepare technical reports on work progress and suggest necessary modifications.
• Perform other duties related to the nature of the work as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies

Knowledge:

• Mechanical engineering design standards and systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, etc.).
• Project planning, tendering processes, and construction supervision.
• Local and international codes related to mechanical works.
• Preventive maintenance and failure analysis techniques.

Skills:

• Mechanical systems design, planning, and supervision.
• Reviewing contractor works and technical submittals.
• Fault diagnosis and technical troubleshooting.
• Preparing detailed technical reports and recommendations.

Minimum Qualification:

• Minimum of 10 years of work experience.

• Fluency in both Arabic and English (spoken and written) is required.
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders in both languages.
• Strong written skills for preparing reports, presentations, and correspondence.
